Too Pooped To Party

We went to the Lubbock Arts Festival yesterday, and took Emmie with us - we thought we'd take her to see all the pretty things. Turned out, she was the prettiest thing there! All the vendors whose booths we stopped to look at just couldn't get enough of the baby...there was oooh-ing and ahhh-ing that could have rivaled a taping of Wheel Of Fortune!

And how did Emily like her place in the spotlight? Did the admiration of the multitudes go to her head? What did she think of all the attention lavished on her by a throng of adoring fans?

She didn't have a clue. She slept through the whole thing!

.

But she was also the hit of the nursery at church this morning, and she was awake for that, and smiling at everyone, like the little charmer she knows she is.

Big Girl!

Emily went to the doctor the other day for her 2-month checkup, and she's doing very well. She is now 23 inches tall, and she weighs 12 pounds!! (and 1 ounce!)

She got her immunization shots, and was not at all happy about it, but on the whole she was a very brave little girl. She didn't cry for very long; she slept most of the rest of the day, and ran just a little bit of fever and was just a little bit fussy the next day.

Now we're all back to normal - with our smiley, happy baby! Right now she's talking to Ken, telling him all about what she's going to do today while he's at work. It sounds like she has some big plans for the day - hope I can keep up!

Easter

We just had our first Easter, and it snowed! We had fun though. Grampa and Nana Jo were here last week and they brought an Easter basket with more "big girl" clothes in it from Nana Jo & Aunt Meaghan. Then we went with them to the mall to see the Easter Bunny.

Then on Sunday Emily got all dressed up in a pretty new white dress, and we took her to our church in its new location, in a big new building (well, the building itself isn't new, but it's the new church.) She got to go to the nursery and play with a bunch of nice ladies and other babies. It was really neat & we can't wait to go back again!
