Feeling Much Better Now

Well, thankfully, the worst of the ear infection/cold seems to be over, and our happy baby is back again. While she was feeling all yucky, we noticed she didn't really want to be held a lot; she was much happier when we just laid her down & left her alone (Ken is like that when he gets sick, too.) So I got her a play mat, so that now she's feeling better she can lie in her crib, or on our bed, and have something fun to entertain herself with - and she loves it!

(And for those of you that might notice and be wondering...yes, the music in the background is Green Day - it's a Rockabye Baby CD.)

Sick Baby

I had to go to the doctor Saturday morning.  I woke up with a "fever". (Not too sure what that meant, I just felt all hot and yucky)  Daddy came in and took off my clothes and then put a thingy under my arm.  He wouldn't let me move...but he let me play with his finger and he sang to me, that was nice.  He then got a weird look and then went and told mommy.  Mommy then got the thingy that daddy had under my arm and then "checked my temperature" in a place that wasn't so fun.  (She didn't sing to me at all)   Mommy told daddy that it was 101.3 degrees.  So they got on the phone and talked to the doctor.   We then got all dressed up and packed up and then we went to the place where the doctor is.  They took my temperature there and weighed me.  (16 and a half pounds now!!)  They said that my temperature was 98 degrees.  So we went to a room and then mommy and daddy were playing with me when in walked the doctor.  She was talking to mommy and daddy when she got all close and then stuck something in my ear.  (I didn't like that at all)  She said something about an ear infection.  She then stuck a stick in my mouth.  I didn't even get to bite it when she said that I had a cold.  I thought "nope, I am all hot and yucky".  We then got to go home.  Now they keep giving me this weird tasting stuff, tastes like bubble gum (whatever that is), and some REALLY YUCKY stuff.  Oh well, I at least get to be cuddled alot more and I get to sleep some more too.

Silly Sneezes

High Chair

Grampa & Nana Jo are shopping for a high chair to keep at their house in Capitan, for when Emily or Jackson comes to visit them.

We found something that might help them in their search - back in February, American Baby Magazine published a comparison of some of the newer high chairs on the market. Check this one out!

At the Park

We went to Plainview yesterday for our friend Glenn's birthday. We played in the big park there and cooked out hamburgers & hot dogs. All our buddies were there with their kids and we had a fun time!

Emily wore a new dress that has a matching sun-hat, so her little face wouldn't get all burned. I put sunscreen on her too, and she didn't like that at all - too slimy. But then the fun really started; she got to sit on just everybody's lap! She met lots of new (and not-so-new) friends and seemed to have lots of good conversations.

This is Emily with Ms. Kendra, Glenn's wife.

We can't wait for Glenn to have another birthday so we can go back to the park and play with everybody again!
