Lunch with Aunt Meaghan and Uncle Michael

Meaghan & Michael were in Plainview this weekend for a wedding, and we had lunch with them after church on Sunday. Emily and Jackson were fascinated with one another, even though Emily was sleepy and Jackson was just ready to get down and practice his new walking skills. The Little League World Series was on while we ate lunch, so we got to see our Lubbock Westerners win the consolation bracket and take their official position as the third-place Little League team in the world. Aunt Meaghan brought Emily some more clothes that she can wear when she's a bit bigger - we like it when Aunt Meaghan comes to visit! After lunch we went outside and Jackson showed Emily how to walk...but I don't think she's quite ready to start practicing just yet.

Duckie!

Now that we're sitting up so well, we decided it was time to try out the duckie bathtub that Mama's friend Kristen got for Emily. It's been lots of fun so far!

Vacation

We got to spend last weekend at Grampa & Nana Jo's house in the mountains, and it was a lot of fun! Emily had a great time; we took some of her toys from home, and there was lots of new, interesting stuff to look at and explore.

Emily loves her Grampa! He kept her well entertained for the whole weekend.

Yummy_coaster

Of all the pretty things at Nana Jo & Grampa's house, Emily thought Nana Jo's beaded coasters were the yummiest!

She also got to go to the Capitan school, and met all the teachers there who work with Nana Jo, and we went to Grampa's church on Sunday and charmed everybody there! And she got a red shirt with a lizard on it that says Ruidoso (they didn't have any Capitan shirts for little babies.)

When it was time to go home, though, Emily decided she'd had just about enough of being in her carseat for hours at a time. She woke up outside Roswell and let us have it! So we finally stopped at a rest stop just that side of Tatum, had a bottle, changed diapers, etc., then packed it in for the rest of the drive home.

Luckily, after about another half hour, she fell asleep again, and slept the rest of the way. But boy, was she glad to get out of that carseat once & for all!

We had a fun vacation though, & we all can't wait to go back to Capitan again!

Look at that big girl!

Applesauce - Yumm!

For my six-month birthday, mama wanted to get me a special treat (I like this "birthday" thing already!) So she got me some stuff called apple-sauce, and I got to eat it after dinner. It was yummy! Even better than the cereal that I get for breakfast.

Here's me in my new chair, munching away. Mmmmm!

But after a little while, mom & dad started looking at my head & making frowny faces. Mama said I had a big red splotch on the side of my head. Then they said I couldn't have any more applesauce until after we went to the doctor! I don't know why - my head didn't hurt or itch or anything, and they said the redness went away after they quit feeding me. I don't see the harm if I just have a red head for a little bit, if I can keep eating this new yummy stuff.
